How does Belbin GetSet for Schools work?
First, students learn about themselves and their behaviours. They consider what they bring to a group and how to use their strengths. As a result, they can describe their skills with greater confidence.
The programme also supports choices about subjects and future careers. For example, students can use what they learn when preparing an apprenticeship application or a personal statement. In addition, the sessions explore wellbeing and working with others.
The Belbin process
Belbin GetSet gives young people a way to describe their unique qualities. This helps them talk about their contribution in education and at work. The programme also provides supporting materials, including lesson plans and slides.
Certified Belbin Practitioners lead the feedback sessions. Together, students discuss their strengths, reflect on their performance and consider how to work with classmates.
Workshop schedule
We tailor the workshop to your class profile and needs. Generally, the morning starts with an indoor briefing and classroom learning. Next, students rotate through six to eight short team tasks, followed by a debrief before lunch.
In the afternoon, the programme combines classroom learning with further practical work. Often, the class takes on a longer challenge as a whole team.
Outdoor activities
The activities help students apply their classroom learning and improve teamwork. Before each task, the facilitator gives a short briefing. Afterwards, students reflect on the experience in a debrief. We place these tasks between the key focus areas for the team.
