How does Belbin for Schools work?
Belbin GetSet helps students to learn about themselves and their behaviours – giving them the confidence to project themselves in a positive way. Belbin GetSet empowers students to use their strengths and skills to their best effect and helps them to make effective subject and career choices. Using GetSet at an early age also leads to better outcomes from an academic perspective. From applying for an apprenticeship or composing a personal statement for university/college applications, to improving wellbeing and teamworking, Belbin GetSet will help.
The Belbin Process
Belbin GetSet gives young people the edge in increasingly competitive educational and working environments, offering them a way to describe the unique qualities they have to offer and a language to use about themselves which will resonate with professionals and help to enhance their future higher education and career prospects. The Belbin GetSet programme provides supporting material, such as lesson plans and slides.
Schedule for the Workshop:
The workshop will be divided up into bespoke key areas depending on your class profile and needs. Generally though the morning is comprised of indoor brief and learning combined with a rotation of 6-8 short experiential team tasks followed by a pre-lunch debrief. The afternoon program combines classroom learning and often a longer challenge for the entire team.
Outdoor Activities
- The aim of these activities is to continuously improve team work and apply what was learnt in the classroom to the tasks. There will be a quick brief and debrief before and after each task. The tasks will be dispersed in between the key focus areas as per the team profile.
