Petro Energy Corporation are growing increasingly nervous about the impending renewable wave which threatens the carbon economy. In order to eliminate this threat they have kidnapped Tesla’s lead engineer and dumped him somewhere in the Wicklow hills. He holds the key to eco-power. With the help of an ex-employee of Petro Energy Corporation (now a secret mole) your mission is to overcome all obstacles facing your team and find the secrets to the automotive technology of the future by discovering the plans to, and building, the first hydrogen fuel powered car and therefore eliminate mankind’s reliance on fossil fuels in favour of green energy resources. By doing this, your green credentials will be secured and you and your company can continue expanding and evolving as a major contributor to the renewable energy sector, thereby creating a clean, sustainable future for all mankind.

Description

How does Operation Horizon work?

3 separate missions combine as part of one overall mission.

Teams are dropped at 3 separate locations in the Wicklow hills. They have a guide for safety, but they must learn to use their own map and GPS to solve the clues along the way and complete the challenges successfully. The end goal is to discover the information, plans and equipment to build the first hydrogen fuel powered car by working together. Teams will have to navigate cross country for 3-4 hours to get to the final location whilst completing the challenges en-route.

Underlying Principle:

No sub team has full information until all mission sub tasks are complete. They will lack the essential equipment required that must be obtained by working with the other teams. Teams will not have a clear overall or prescribed path to follow. They are all interdependent. Only communication and collaboration will slowly reveal the evolving and changing mission.
