Event Square supported DAA with a large family fun day at ALSAA, designed for approximately 800 attendees and delivered across a four-hour event window.

The brief

The event needed to bring together activities, entertainment, catering coordination, safety planning and family-friendly logistics in one clear operational plan.

With a large mixed-age audience, the challenge was not simply to provide activities. The wider event had to allow families to arrive, move around the site, eat, take part and enjoy the day without unnecessary bottlenecks.

Event format

The programme ran at ALSAA from 12:00 to 16:00, with the site prepared in advance so activities, food and entertainment could operate together smoothly for a high-volume audience.

A family event of this size needs more than a list of attractions. Supplier access, setup timing, catering, waste, staffing and guest movement all need to fit the same site plan and timetable.

Why the operational plan matters

Large family days involve different ages, different activity preferences and different arrival patterns. Some guests want high-energy activities, while others need seating, food, lower-intensity options or time to socialise.

By planning the event as a set of coordinated zones rather than one single attraction, the programme can spread people more naturally across the venue.
