The Belbin® Graduate Experience

From: 90 (p/p or per event ex-vat)

Belbin Team Roles provide the language of teams, enabling people to project and talk about their behavioural strengths and ‘allowable weaknesses’ in a safe, non-confrontational and productive way. They help to compose successful teams, fine-tune existing teams for high-performance, and ensure that each team member’s behavioural contributions are harnessed to best effect. Facilitators from Event Square and Belbin Ireland have combined their experience and expertise to deliver a rich and lasting team development experience. From graduate onboarding programmes to meeting the bespoke needs of more complex leadership teams, Event Square and Belbin offer a blended approach that combines physical, mental and cerebral tasks with Belbin exercises designed to help teams recognise their Team Role contributions and bring to life the characteristics of the nine Team Roles.

* The Belbin Experience begins two – three weeks before your Team Day. Please read below for further details about the process.

Description

The Belbin Process

  • The process will kick off with a call with a Belbin facilitator during which we will establish your team building goals and desired outcomes and go through some very basic administrative set up requirements.
  • Each team member will complete a Self-Perception Inventory (SPI) from the comfort of their own home or office – which takes 20 minutes online.
  • On completion, each member will be asked to select between four and eight colleagues, associates or team members to complete what we refer to as an ‘Observer Assessment’ (OA).
  • SPI and OA results are combined to produce each individual’s 360° Belbin® Team Role Profile – an eight-page personal report (see sample report) that offers advice and guidance on how an individual might work best, communicate their preferences to others and cultivate their talents and strengths.
  • The Belbin Administration System will also produce a Belbin® Team Report that explores the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks for each team.

The Belbin® Team Feedback Session

On the day of your Event Square/Belbin event, we will present the results of your Belbin Team Report and illustrate how the roles and behaviours that we naturally perform best and worst can make a huge difference to our own productivity and our interactions with others.

This face-to-face session will focus on how a team becomes effective when;

  • Team members understand their own strengths and weaknesses and the strengths and weaknesses of their team members
  • All nine Team Roles are represented within the Team
  • How to exploit the team’s strengths and contain its weaknesses

Belbin Team Feedback and 1:1 sessions are also available online. Please see the Belbin Virtual Experience for more details.
